Print Spooler Crashes in Windows 7

On the Windows 7 computer

Open Regedit, goto:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3

Remove the print driver from there.

Also goto:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers

And remove the printer from that list.

restart the print spooler and the spooler should start behaving

On your Print server you need to open Printer and Faxes. right click and choose Server Properties, click on the Drivers Tab and click the Add button and install the WIndows 7 Drivers for the printer, then when you reconnect to the print server it will use the Windows 7 Drivers.
